Skin Retouch

Skin retouching is about perfecting the appearance of the skin by addressing imperfections, spots and uneven tones. This process aims to create a flawless, yet natural complexion, while preserving the subject’s authentic characteristics.

  • Blemish Removal: Spot healing and cloning tools are employed to eliminate pimples, scars, and other imperfections, ensuring a smoother skin texture.
  • Skin Tone Correction: Adjusting color balance and correcting uneven tones contribute to a more uniform and appealing skin complexion.
  • Texture Refinement: Softening the skin's texture can be achieved through techniques like frequency separation, which separates the image into high and low-frequency layers, allowing for more precise adjustments.
  • Wrinkle Reduction: While not eliminating natural wrinkles entirely, retouching aims to soften and reduce their prominence, maintaining a balance between realism and enhancement.


Professional Retouch

Professional retouching goes beyond the basics of skin retouching. It is a meticulous process that involves an in-depth understanding of light, shadow, and the intricate details that make a professional image.

Key aspects of professional retouching include:

  • Dodge and Burn Technique: This advanced method involves selectively lightening (dodging) and darkening (burning) specific areas of the image. This technique not only enhances the three-dimensional quality of the subject but also adds depth and definition.

  • Contouring and Shaping: Professional retouching may involve contouring the face and body to accentuate features. This goes beyond simple skin tone adjustments and involves subtle manipulation of shadows and highlights.

  • Detail Enhancement: delete all the disturbing objects from the background or change it directly with one more simple and professional, like a monocolor wall.

While professional retouching may sound like a one-size-fits-all solution, it's important to strike a balance between artistry and authenticity. Too much meticoulos retouch can lead to an unnatural, plastic-like appearance, stripping away the genuine character of the subject.

Pay attention: you still have to maintain a natural effect, without upsetting the facial features and without making the face "plastic".
